Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art

1/3

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art at the AAA Five Diamond Award Bellagio Resort is one of the best places in Las Vegas to see works of art by the world's most renowned and influential artists. From contemporary works to classical masterpieces, the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art houses paintings, sculptures, photographs, and mixed media work, generally by accepted mainstream artists. Though many were skeptical about the opening of an art gallery in Las Vegas, a city often known for its less classy pursuits, the gallery has been a temporary home to an extensive amount of fine art and become well-respected even by art critics. Some of the past exhibits have included works by Monet, Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Ansel Adams. Even pieces from the collection of actor-comedian Steve Martin have been shown at the Gallery.

Though a small exhibit for a somewhat pricier admission than some of the other art locales in Las Vegas, the Bellagio Gallery is an excellent place to get away from the heat, crowds, and bustle of the Strip. The amount of art is not overwhelming, and visitors can really take their time to appreciate each piece and learn about it. At admission, visitors are provided with a headset that offers audio commentary about each art work. At the end of the exhibit, a 20 minute video about a specific artist is usually available for viewing.

At the end of their tour through the gallery, guests can browse and shop the adjacent store, which offers merchandise related to the exhibit as well as unique gift items, books, toys, and jewelry. Movie lovers will also enjoy being in one of the settings of the movie Ocean's 11, as the Bellagio Gallery was Julia Roberts' workplace in the movie. Nevertheless, it is certainly worth a visit for its fine art alone, even if you're not an art expert. Next time you take a break from the casinos, make sure to see the latest exhibit and enjoy this touch of culture and class in Las Vegas.
