Ever wonder what’s really going on inside your body. You know your heart is pumping blood through your veins and your body is receiving messages from your brain but what about your pancreas or your liver? Ever wonder what those organs are doing right now? Well now you can find out during Bodies the Exhibition Tour. Using real preserved human bodies to help visitors understand what’s underneath their skin, and understand skin itself, Bodies unveils the complex system of organs and tissues that help people function in every aspect of their daily lives. Featuring over 200 specimens from whole bodies to individual organs that have been dissected and preserved, this exhibition will enlighten and empower. Bodies also touches on today’s healthcare concerns such as obesity, breast cancer, colon cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, ectopic pregnancy, bone fractures and more. Outlining the damages done to organs due to smoking and dietary excess, this exhibition sheds awareness on every aspect of human health. Visitors will be able to see each of these conditions as they walk through an impressive array of bodies and organs.
After you get to know your body a little better, head over to the Titanic Artifact exhibit. Guests can see more than 300 authentic artifacts from the ship, recovered from its final resting place at 12,500 feet beneath the sea. The artifacts range from items such as handbags and jewelry to pieces from the boat itself, including door frames, whistles, and a 15-ton section of the ship’s hull. The exhibit also includes a fully constructed replica of Titanic’s magnificent Grand Staircase, as well as a replica of the Promenade Deck. On the deck, visitors can actually feel the icy weather conditions that passengers of the Titanic felt on that tragic night. Viewing the personal artifacts of the passengers on board as well as recreations of the first and third-class cabins allows visitors a haunting look at what it was like to be on the Titanic in those final hours. Though a bit more somber than the Bodies Exhibit, the Titanic Artifact Exhibit provides a fascinating trip into the past to remember one of the most beautiful ships ever created and all the passengers that were lost on it. But just as compelling and fascinating, the Bodies Exhibit takes you on a different journey, perhaps one closer to your heart, as you explore your own body. And now you can enjoy them together with the Bodies and Titanic Combo Ticket! |
