Gondola Rides at the Venetian

Getting tired of Las Vegas? We’re not sure how it’s possible, but if it happens, you can escape to Italy by riding on an authentic Venetian gondola at the Venetian. One of the most romantic attractions in Las Vegas, the gondola rides over calm canal waters winding through the hotel and casino underneath its beautiful sky-replicating ceiling.

A favorite attraction among Las Vegas visitors, the Gondola Rides glide down the Venetian’s Grand Canal underneath bridges and archways and past cafes and stores in the Grand Canal Shoppes. With the Venetian-style facades overlooking the canal and the Shoppes’ beautiful color-changing sky, you’ll feel like you’re actually riding through Venice. Riders especially love the gondoliers – they all possess beautiful voices and serenade you during the ride, adding to the charm and atmosphere.

Each gondola ride lasts about 12 minutes and seats four people. And for those who have tried the indoor gondola ride and want a different experience, there’s also an outdoor gondola ride for two passengers that glides out along the lagoon at the front of the Venetian, past replicas of Italian palaces and piazzas. The outdoor ride is subject to closure due to inclement weather, but on a good weather day, it’s quite lovely.

Though a bit pricey, the Gondola Rides are worth it for the relaxing and romantic atmosphere. This is one Las Vegas attraction that’s especially enjoyable for the couples. You can even request a private gondola for the indoor ride for an extra-romantic experience (admission price will increase). Making a recommendation for the ride is suggested; otherwise, be prepared to wait in line for a fairly long while as the rides are very popular. And if you happen to ride the Gondola on your birthday, be sure to mention it to the gondolier – there’s a good chance you’ll get to enjoy hearing the entire cast sing “Happy Birthday” in Italian.
