Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants does, but you can also find him at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino at the SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D Ride, located on the Fantasy Faire level. Visitors young and old can join SpongeBob on a hilarious, action-packed adventure based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon.
If you’ve never seen SpongeBob before in your life, don’t worry – the adventure starts with a five-minute pre-show video introducing the square sponge and his lovable friends Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs. Then, guests are taken into a simulation theater with motion-based seats where they’ll accompany SpongeBob on a five minute escapade through Bikini Bottom. You’ll watch as SpongeBob goes in search of a runaway pickle in his efforts to serve up the perfect Krabby Patty, and you’ll cheer as he foils his nemesis Plankton’s evil plans. And since the ride is 4-D, expect lots of fun special effects. With water squirted at you, bubbles floating around you, and puffs of wind shot at you, you’ll feel like you’re in Bikini Bottom right along with SpongeBob.
Two other motion rides are available for viewing in addition to the SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D Ride. On the Extreme Log Ride 4-D, you’ll go for a wild simulated roller coaster ride on a log through caves, past dangerous alligators, and into water – beware of the splash! On the Dino Island 2: 4-D Ride (not to be confused with its predecessor, Dino Island 1, a different ride that is no longer playing), you’ll go on a simulated expedition to save dinosaurs on an uncharted island. The three rides are shown daily on a rotating schedule, and joining them from November 14th through January 6th is the Polar Express 4-D, which will take riders through an exciting 14-minute version of the film.
