Visitors to Las Vegas enjoy the distinct pleasure of seeing some of their favorite cities reborn with a twist; places like Paris and New York-New York are not quite as big as the real thing but effectively echo the feel of being in these famous cities. And yet, something about the roller coaster at New York-New York manages to top the Big Apple. After all, there’s no coaster in New York that winds around all the towers and skyscrapers while giving its riders an intense rush.
The Roller Coaster at New York-New York is an unparalleled shot of adrenaline that whirls you around a recreation of New York City’s scenic skyline. The coaster enjoys the position of being the biggest and longest-lasting roller coaster in Las Vegas (at two minutes and 45 seconds), and it provides an incredible aerial view of the Las Vegas strip like no other ride in Vegas. Be sure to catch the view as the ride lifts you up, though, as you may not have the presence of mind to notice it afterwards. Rollercoaster lovers and thrill-seekers will enjoy this wild ride, which lifts its riders up 203 feet, then drops them down 144 feet at 67 mph. And that’s not nearly the end of it; the ride also includes a 180 degree barrel roll, whirls into an extreme 540-degree spiral, and hangs its riders 86 feet in the air. Though many have called the ride a little rough, nobody can say it’s not intense.
And best – or worst – yet, your horrified or gleeful expression during the ride is captured on film for a great memento of the experience or photographic evidence for the mocking amusement of your friends. Either way, there’s no fun like the extreme intensity of the Roller Coaster at New York-New York.
