Located at the Angel Park Golf Club, the Cloud Nine course is a shorter course than most in Las Vegas with twelve holes. However, being shorter doesn’t necessarily make this golf course a pushover – designed by Bob Cupp, Cloud Nine features holes inspired by some of the world’s most famous holes around the world. Meticulously groomed with plenty of challenges to make gameplay interesting, Cloud Nine is a great course for players of all levels, especially those looking to improve their skill.
With twelve par-3 holes that play between 85 and 146 yards, it might be easy to underestimate Cloud Nine. However, bunkers are deep and frequent, and water features like waterfalls and ponds add both scenic elements and obstacles to the game. Furthermore, players will find replicas of world-renowned par-3s such as “The Postage Stamp” hole from Royal Troon, the “Island Green” from TPC at Sawgrass, and the “Valley of Sin” from St. Andrews. And because the holes have been shrunk down to size, players will find that strategy, control, and a good short game comes into play much more often than a strong swing.
The layout is walkable, however, and golf carts aren’t really necessary, nor are they included in the price of admission. Players will definitely want to bring a full set of clubs, though, and they are available for rental. Perhaps most unique about Cloud Nine is the fact that nine of the 12 courses are lit at night, allowing players to enjoy the course even after the sun goes down.
One of the most popular courses in Vegas, Cloud Nine has been named one of the Top Short Courses in America by Golf Range Magazine and one of the Top Ten Replica Courses in the Country by Travel & Leisure. With an excellent youth program, Angel Park is particularly suitable for junior players and even beginning adults. Moreover, the course is much more affordable than some of Vegas’ more illustrious courses, making it a great spot for golfers on a budget and those just looking to have some fun.
If you don’t want to commit several hundred dollars but still want to experience an enjoyable game of golf in Las Vegas, the Cloud Nine course at Angel Park is an excellent choice.
