Angel Park Palm Course

1/2

Designed by Arnold Palmer, the par-70 Palm course at Angel Park features 18 holes of golf that fully take advantage of Nevada’s beautiful and exhilarating landscape. Despite being the shorter of the two championship courses at Angel Park (measuring 6,500 yards from the back tees), the Palm course still commands a golfer’s full array of skills with well-placed water features, numerous fairway bunkers, and other hazards.

Though golfers of all levels will enjoy the player-friendly Palm course, it appeals most to high handicappers for its wide variety of holes and challenges. Dramatic mountain views lurk in the backdrop of the course’s long par-3’s and exciting par-5’s, which demand good club selection, forced carries, and creative shots in order to score well. Few trees make it a genuine desert course, and Nevada’s natural slopes are utilized in undulating greens that require a little extra finesse from players.

Each hole has its own distinct character that players will find refreshing and fun. The five par-3’s are particularly popular with an average of 200 yards, requiring players to start strong right off the tee. The par-5 6th hole is considered the trickiest with a double dogleg 525-yard hole featuring a split fairway bordered by arroyos and bunkers. And the 175-yard 8th hole is perhaps the most symbolic of the entire course; despite being the shortest hole, it’s the most dramatic with large ponds to the front and right of the green as well as a large bunker at its back. With all of Palm’s holes, accuracy is integral to a low score.

After playing through the Palm or Mountain courses at Angel Park, golfers can enjoy amenities like a pro shop, practice facility, and a Mediterranean clubhouse offering casual and delicious bites. An 18-hole putting course and a lighted course also make for additional fun and practice that’s a bit off the beaten path from the ordinary golf club experience, and the golf club’s affordability makes it accessible to all. Golfers will also appreciate the polite and attentive staff, who make gameplay that much more pleasant. A local favorite, Angel Park and the Palm course offer great golf any day of the year.
