“Desert oasis” is a term liberally applied to many Las Vegas golf courses, but at Cascata, use of the phrase is definitely warranted. Cascata, Italian for waterfall, is named after the 418-foot waterfall that glistens down the side of a mountain right next to the course. However, it’s only one of the beautiful scenic vistas on this par-72, 18-hole golf course located in Boulder City, Nevada. Golfers will enjoy an intimate and luxurious golf experience filled with lush fairways, lakes, and streams set amid the stunning backdrop of Red Mountain.
Designed by renowned course architect Rees Jones, Cascata is a golfer’s paradise; built for the elite, no detail has been forgotten on this course built with bright green fairways and pristine white sand bunkers. As players prepare to tee off, they’ll find themselves isolated on the hole, with no other holes in sight; the course has been arranged so that you’ll likely never see another golfer playing through, making each round a private and peaceful affair.
And though Cascata is certainly beautiful, don’t let appearances fool you; the course provides a fine game filled with fun challenges and exhilarating tests of skill. The 7,100-yard course takes advantage of its mountain setting with unique topography that includes mountainside tee boxes and colorful canyons. The holes are rarely flat and feature plenty of elevated tees, undulated greens, and tricky slopes that will have players calling on their caddies for help. Water plays a role in seven of the holes, the mountain stream playing along the sides of four of them; a particularly stunning par-3 7th hole features one of the course’s dramatic waterfalls as its backdrop in addition to a canyon wall, deep ridge, and bunker as hazards to avoid.
When the game is over, players can retreat to the Tuscan-style clubhouse for an appetizing meal or a relaxing cigar. A golf shop is available for stocking up on equipment, apparel, and accessories, and the men’s and ladies’ lounges are equipped with luxuries like flat screen TVs.
Though open to the public, Cascata gives priority to guests of Harrah’s entertainment properties such as Caesars Palace and Paris Las Vegas. All guests, however, will benefit from unparalleled service that includes PGA Tour-class caddies, and equipment, fashion, or play assistance from Class A PGA Professionals. And if you have a special request, food, drink, or otherwise, the staff will see that it gets fulfilled. Though golfing here is expensive, the luxury and beauty of Cascata is unmatched in Las Vegas.
