Café Martorano tries it’s best to break all the rules when it comes to fine dining. This restaurant, bar, and nightclub serves Italian food the “old school” way. Chef Steve Martorano insists on fresh ingredients and even the pasta cooked to order. The restaurant serves entrees family-style so everyone can share and talk about the food. Chef Martorano is more than just a chef; he is also the restaurant’s resident DJ. As the kitchen closes, Martorano gets turns up the volume and spins the latest in hip-hop and R & B. With full stomachs and a few glasses of wine under their belt, diners can’t help but get up and dance the night away.
The décor at Café Martorano is anything but typical. The dimly lit restaurant is open to great views of Las Vegas and even though you will enjoy the luxury of white linens on the table, there are flat-screen TVs on the wall playing classic mobster films. The food may be old world, but the restaurant is so much more than you would expect for an Italian restaurant. The food at Martorano’s is beyond unique for Italian food. Enjoy home-cooked classics like Sunday Gravy with fresh ricotta cheese. Then, take a trip to Philly with a classic cheese steak sandwich. There is also an extensive wine list to choose from with many regional selections from small as well as large vineyards. Dishes like the eggplant stack make for a great appetizer. Other appetizers include the South-Philly style fried calamari. Also try the baked clams with Italian-style bread crumbs. For entrees, veal picatta is a house favorite. Also try the perciatelli with pancetta, rigatoni with extra virgin olive oil, or the lobster francese with cold-water lobster tail dipped in a special egg batter and sautéed in extra virgin olive oil. The lively atmosphere mixed with traditional food is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Café Martorano is a must-try. |
