Just because Dan Marino is a former quarterback for the Miami Dolphins doesn’t mean this former football player doesn’t know a thing or two about fine dining. At Dan Marino’s Fine Food and Spirits, Marino brings Miami-style comfort food to Las Vegas in this casual but sophisticated eatery within the Hooters Casino Hotel. With an eye-pleasing cedar wood environment adorned by metal accents and a tin roof, Dan Marino’s Fine Food and Spirits actually lends a touch of much-needed class to the Hooters Casino-Hotel.
From the “small and savory” appetizers to the hearty steaks off the grill, Dan Marino’s offers plenty to satisfy the stomach. For a soothing starter, try the French Onion Soup or the Maryland Crab Cakes, oven-baked and served over baby greens with a tasty dill-caper sauce. Or, try their delicious Bronzed Chicken Tomato Mozzarella salad, which is big enough to share with plenty of tomatoes, mozzarella, basil leaves, baby greens, red onion, and balsamic dressing.
For entrees, Dan Marino’s offers a variety of house specialties, sandwiches and wraps, dishes from the grill and sea, and smaller-portioned lunch specialties. The signature Tender Beef Tips are truly lip-smacking, tips of Filet Mignon sautéed in a mushroom merlot sauce over garlic smashed potatoes and onion crisps. And the Marino Burger is a local favorite, served on a toasted potato bun with French fries. Some say Dan Marino’s burgers are the best in Las Vegas, high praise given that there’s no shortage of burger-serving places here.
Though beef is certainly one of their specialties (the restaurant uses Harris Ranch Natural Black Angus beef, corn-fed, USDA certified, and hand-selected), one of Dan Marino’s personal favorites at the restaurant is the baked and nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi, served over vanilla rum butter sauce with spinach. The desserts are also refreshingly unique and tasty, including a Baked Almond Brittle served in a basket filled with raspberry sorbet and fresh berries. Don’t forget to try one of their specialty drinks, such as the tropical Quarterback Colada.
A hidden gem on the Las Vegas dining scene, Dan Marino’s is a great spot to savor some comforting classics done well at reasonable prices.
