This small informal café is owned by Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich who have already gained popularity with their B&B restaurant at the Venetian. The café is set in the casual yet romantic St. Marks Square at the Venetian. The restaurant offers an Italian menu from several regions as well as an extensive wine list. Grilled veggies and salad options make the perfect treat for a light lunch. Antipasti are the specialty here. Meats and cheeses are shipped in daily from all over the world. Mussels and rock shrimp are another favorite appetizer.
Enoteca San Marco offers several heavier entrees as well. Roast duck with house raisins and veal-ricotta polpette are a few favorites. Pastas at Enoteca San Marco are traditional yet delicious. Try the spaghetti alla carbonarra or the penne alla puttanesca. Enoteca also has great gourmet pizzas. Varieties include Romana, marinara, Napoletana, four cheese, and sweet onion with goat cheese. Seating is mostly outdoors among the shops and restaurants that make up St. Mark’s Square. This café is great for people watching. There are even live performers and singing gondoliers that will create a romantic setting for anytime of the day.
