Japonais at the Mirage is really more than a restaurant; it’s a revolution in culinary excellence. Chef Jun Ichikawa and Chef Gene Kato fuse their distinct flavors to create something that is truly unique. Chef Ickikawa is a celebrated sushi chef while Chef Kato is trained in French cooking. Together they create a complete menu of hot and cold entrees, appetizers, and desserts with a marriage of tastes that is both seamless and delicious.

Hot appetizers include “The Rock”, which is a thinly sliced New York strip steak which doesn’t just satisfy—it also entertains, as it is cooked right at your table on top of a hot rock. Cold appetizers include a sweet ceviche that consists of shrimp tartare marinated in ginger and served with an avocado mousse. For dessert try the Kabocha Cheesecake, a Japanese pumpkin flavored cheesecake served with pumpkin mousse and almond cookie crust. Japonais is also a calm and soothing place to enjoy a meal. Located among the tropical indoor gardens of the Mirage, Japonais is secluded and modern, but with the added touch of natural scenery. Japonais also offers after-dinner lounge hours.
