Welcome to one of the newest restaurants to hit the Harrah’s Hotel property. The restaurant is based off of the original family recipes of Gabrielle Panazzi’s Italian family. Serving classic Italian cuisine with a contemporary edge, you will be wowed by their classic Italian dishes, extensive wine and cocktail list, and fabulous desserts. The restaurant uses soothing neutral colors of cream, subtle olive green, and warm yellow accents. The dining rooms looks over to the kitchen, where you can see, smell, and hear the hustle and bustle of the busy Italian kitchen as your meal is prepared.
The menu is built from the core by the Penazzi family’s Italian recipes, so you know you are getting quality and authentic Italian cuisine. The appetizers range from the typical starters for Italian restaurants, such as a traditional antipasto, to the specialty appetizers of the house, such as Carciofini al Limone (fried artichoke hearts in a garlic wine & butter sauce) and Rotolino di Gamberetti al Gorgonzola (fresh shrimp wrapped in pancetta and encrusted with phyllo). The dishes here are your favorite classic Italian dishes with a twist. The secrets of the Penazzi recipes are never given away, but you are able to taste the mystery behind these tasty and satisfying dishes. One of the house favorites is that of the Paglia e Fieno di mamma Caterina, which is green and yellow taglionlini with ragu alla Bolognese. Having been created by Gabrielle’s mother, the bright green and yellow colors in this dish are said to represent the colors of the Italian country side. Another house speciality is that of the Rollatini di Sogliole alla Don, which is a fabulous fresh rolled filet of sole stuffed with crabmeat and then poached in a tomato-caper sauce and garnished with wilted spinach, almost reminiscent of the colors of the Italian flag. With symbolism in every dish, you can see that the food here is right from the heart of Italy.
Make sure you try one of their fabulous desserts, as well. End with a classic dish of tiramisu and a hot cup of cappuccino.
