It seems that Wolfgang Puck has done it again. After his success with his first breakfast restaurant, Riva at the Venetian, Wolfgang has ventured out to create another equally inventive breakfast café. Solaro at the new Palazzo hotel is a quiet and calming outdoor café which serves surprisingly delicious gourmet cuisine. All ingredients used in Solaro’s breakfast and lunch entrees are made in house. Even the salmon is smoked right in the restaurant. Try a French omelet or a scrambled egg pizza. The pastrami has cakes Benedict and the homemade yogurt parfait are light yet filling enough for the first meal of the day. A nice refreshing morning cocktail like a signature bloody mary or a mimosa will complete the meal.
For lunch, don’t expect to find your average hot dogs and hamburgers. Appetizers include a tuna tartare and a refreshing seafood salad. Try any of your favorite Wolfgang pizzas cooked in a wood-burning oven, paninis, and even some heavier entrees like the filet mignon or grilled salmon. If you don’t want to sit around and eat, all the menu items at Solaro can be taken back to your room through the take-out window. If you are looking for a healthy alternative to the many alcoholic drinks that are surely staring you in the face while in Las Vegas, try one of Wolfgang’s delicious fresh squeezed mixed juices. You can even create your own by choosing from a list of fruits for a delicious and refreshing combination that is actually good for you. Alcoholic drinks will only dehydrate you more after spending a long day in the sun, but Wolfgang’s Bunny Brew and Hot Pink will replenish vitamins and help cool you off in the harsh Las Vegas environment. Solaro is a gourmet’s dream. Just because you happen to be spending a day by the pool, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to enjoy great cuisine. |
