Spiedini is hip, trendy, and everything that you would expect to see from a posh Las Vegas hotel like the JW Marriott. Warm orange and turquoise accents create a warm feeling in this sleek and contemporary dining room. Chef Gustav Mauler creates old world Italian dishes that are updated for a gourmet palate. However, the prices are not what you might expect. In fact, everything at Spiedini is reasonably priced and is sure to impress anyone that eats here.
Start with an incredible appetizer like the sesame seared ahi tuna or the beef carpaccio with gorgonzola, caramelized walnuts, arugula, and olive oil. Another favorite are the fresh clams and mussels served with spicy Italian sausage in an herb and tomato sauce with ciabatta crosttinis. For an entrée, try the perfectly seared osso bucco or the veal marsala with a sauce that is prepared fresh for each and every plate. Seafood lovers will enjoy the pan-seared halibut cooked in a caper and lemon butter sauce or the grilled swordfish. The cioppino is a mix of fresh shrimp, tuna, halibut, salmon, mussels, clams, and calamari in a light tomato broth served over pasta. This dish is served the traditional way with seven different types of seafood, which many new world Italian restaurants no longer take the time to prepare.
