Many famous New York restaurants have set up locations in Las Vegas, and sometimes, these Sin City duplicates don’t compare to the original. But that’s not a problem at The Palm in Caesars Palace, which is a home away from home for Vegas-visiting New Yorkers. Located in the Forum Shops, this traditional New York-style steakhouse features lobster and a variety of Continental specialties. Simple décor dominates the casual yet sophisticated Palm, which features dark wood floors and paneling on the walls. And just like the original 70-year-old restaurant in New York, caricatures of local and national celebrities line the walls, lending a warm and whimsical feel to the restaurant.
Two separate menus for lunch and dinner are available at The Palm, which serves up fine New York prime steaks, fresh seafood, poultry, pasta, and veal. For both lunch and dinner, the menu features appetizers, salads, fish, steak and chops, and family-style sides, as well as a few extra entrees and business specials for lunch.
At dinnertime, popular starters include the Colossal Lump Crabmeat Cocktail and the creamy Lobster Bisque. If you plan on ordering a seafood entrée, then we recommend sampling the Prime Aged Steak Tartare – comprised of prime aged New York strip, arugula, capers, and red onions – for the best of both worlds.
All steaks at the Palm are aged USDA prime beef and available a la carte. And from the Prime Rib to the Filet Mignon, you can’t go wrong. The Prime Aged New York Steak a la Stone is particularly tasty, a 16 ounce sliced with sautéed onions and roasted peppers. Be sure to pair your steak with one of the satisfying sides, such as the hand cut French fries and the flavorful fritti asparagus, steamed with garlic and oil.
If you’re in the mood for something for the sea, there’s no better choice than the house specialty, the Jumbo Nova Scotia Lobster. Available in three pounds and larger, this dish is pricey but delicious. Several types of fish are also available a la carte, including Atlantic Salmon, Swordfish, Ahi Tuna, Halibut, and Alaskan King Crab Legs.
Though every restaurant occasionally experiences an off day, the quality of service at The Palm never seems to waver; diners seem to unanimously agree that the wait staff at this comfortable eatery is always pleasant, polite, and attentive. Moreover, diners enjoy the ambience at this New York steakhouse, which is comfortable enough to wear jeans in yet still elegant.
