| Grammy, Emmy, and Tony award winning fan-favorite Barry Manilow takes center stage at the Las Vegas Hilton. With an already tried and true cult-like following, Barry Manilow needs no fancy Las Vegas tricks. But this is Vegas, so he added some anyways. The most notable part of the show is the finale in which a platform rises from the stage and carries Manilow out over the audience in true glitzy Vegas fashion. The show is 90 minutes long and pays tribute to his long-running career as an entertainer. Manilow plays all his classic hits and the audience eats up every bit of it. A little tip about the show is that the theater is a bit wide so seats farther back actually might have a better view than the front row. However, the theater itself is quite intimate, holding only 1,700 seats. An interesting fact you might not know, is that Manilow began his career writing jingles for companies such as Dr.Pepper and McDonalds. He got his start performing on stage as an accompanist for Bette Midler. Now with a much larger fan base, the Las Vegas Hilton decided to open a retail store in conjunction with the live show. This however, isn’t just a quiet live performance. It’s a full-blown spectacular. Manilow is accompanied by a band as well as dancers; making up a total cast of 17. What’s great about this show is the fact that the show isn’t just for crazed “fan-ilows.” Barry Manilow’s music is a mixture of everything from Jazz to Billboard’s top 10 hits, so there’s definitely a little something for everyone. It’s also nice to see a seasoned performer that has a great rapport with his audience and is more than comfortable with the stage. Manilow fits right in with the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas nightlife. |
