When it comes to music there are few musicians who have influenced our thoughts and our dreams as much as Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp have. From political messages to theater crowded performances, these two men have paved the way for today’s budding musicians. And now for the two are coming together for a night of unforgettable, rocking music at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Known for such famous 1960’s songs as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin”, Bob Dylan has been a major figure in popular music for more almost five decades. Early in his career Dylan incorporated political, social and philosophical influences into his music. Due to this fact, both “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Times They Are a Changin” became anthems of both the civil rights movements and of the opposition to the Vietnam War. Due to their political messaging as well as defying existing pop music conventions, Dylan’s songs quickly became popular with the budding counterculture. Throughout the years Dylan has both amplified and personalized musical genres exploring traditions in American song from folk, blues and country to gospel, rock and roll and rockabilly, to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music, embracing even jazz and swing. His influence on all of these genres makes him somewhat of a musical legend. Dylan plays several instruments and while performing, he typically plays all of them including guitars, keyboards, and harmonicas. And you’re sure to continue to see these instruments as Bob Dylan and his band with John Mellencamp take the stage. Almost a decade and a half after Dylan was influencing followers with his political music John Mellencamp began his journey into musical heroism with his first album Chestnut Street Incident. For the next 30 years Mellencamp toured the world performing live to his adoring fans as well as writing his own songs. Along the way he was won one Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Performer for “Hurts So Good” in 1982 and has been nominated for 12 others. Mellencamp has also been awarded the Billboard Century Award in 2001, the prestigious Classic Songwriter Award and was nominated for induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009. And now the two will come together with over 80 years of musical experience to bring the audience a dream concert. For one night only Caesars Palace will play host to musical legends Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp in a unique show you won’t want to miss.
