Defending the Caveman is an insightful comedy about the obvious, and sometimes not so obvious, differences between men and women. The show is performed in the style of a monologue in which a man talks about his relationships with women and why it’s so hard for the two sexes to ever find common ground. This show is great for couples to enjoy together. It is sure to make you laugh and it might even bring you closer together! This show isn’t just a great time; the author provides some really interesting views on the instinctual characteristics of the sexes since the beginning of time. In other words this show won’t just make you laugh; it will also make you think. The show is often recommended by therapists to couples having communication problems and surprisingly couples admit that it seems to help them better understand each other. However, the show contains adult subject matter and probably isn’t suitable for children. The star of the show, comedian Kevin Burke, has the perfect personality for the part. He is lovable and sympathetic to the feelings of both sexes. He is not at all sexist and doesn’t make fun of women, he simply tries to get women (and men) to laugh at themselves and realize that we really are two different types of animals and that the only way for us to live in harmony is to except (and laugh at) our differences instead of get mad at each other. It’s also very encouraging for couples to see others laughing right along with them. It’s comforting to know that many couples have the same types of arguments and you aren’t alone in your struggles. This show is also a little different from some of the big musical productions or variety acts that you are used to seeing on the Strip. This show is a bit subtler, making it a refreshing twist on Vegas nightlife. This is the perfect show for married couples. You might just get some helpful relationship advice and laugh out loud while doing it! |
