For the first time in 29 years, your favorite Osmond’s are back in Las Vegas. Brother and sister duo, Donny and Marie Osmond will be performing nightly at the Flamingo Las Vegas in a 90-minute variety show which utilizes special effects, video, dancers, and an elaborate custom-built stage. The duo will be performing all of their greatest hits and entertaining audiences of all ages. With their cheeky routines and clean performance style, the show is appropriate for kids as well.
The career of Donny and Marie Osmond began at an early age for both performers. Marie began singing and dancing at age three and Donny at age five on The Andy Williams Show. Born into a show business oriented family, Donny and Marie were trained performers at a very young age and were naturally multi-talented. Marie is the only female among eight male siblings. Her brothers Virl, Tom, Merrill, Jay, Jimmy, Alan, Wayne, and, of course, Donny performed in their own specialty act The Osmond Brothers on the The Andy Williams Show during the 1960’s. She performed on the show only a few times and then went on to release her own single “Paper Roses” which became the #1 country hit and reached top 5 on the Billboard charts. In 1974, Donny and Marie released two duets together, “I’m Leaving It All Up to You” and “Morning Side of the Mountain.”
The Osmonds are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and are known to have strong Christian morals. In fact, Marie Osmond turned down the lead role of Sandy in Grease because she did not agree with the moral content in the script. The role was given to Olivia Newton-John instead. The movie went on to become one of the most famous American musicals of all time and was the highest grossing movie in 1978. In 1976, Donny and Marie began hosting their famous variety show Donny and Marie which was the duos biggest success. They also went on to host a talk show together in 1998. Although a talented actress, Marie Osmond has also created her own line of dolls which are sold on the shopping network QVC. Donny also went on to pursue other career options as he worked for a short period of time as a record producer, game show host, and even a race car driver.
Now decades later, the team is back together to perform many of the original hits that made them famous in a Las Vegas style production that is both flashy as well as wholesome enough for the entire family to enjoy. Donny and Marie will be performing live at the Flamingo Showroom.
