Known for her fiery red hair and just as fiery tongue, Kathy Griffin is celebrating Thanksgiving with Las Vegas during her one night only show on November 27 at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. Laced with celebrity rumors, Kathy’s current act consists of embellished stories involving the rich and famous. Her favorite topics to make fun of are plastic surgery, Scientology, drunkenness, substance abuse, snooty attitudes, eating disorders and more. The D-list star first gained recognition for appearances on two episodes of Seinfeld and for her supporting role on the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan. But Kathy was using her edgy humor to make audiences laugh long before her appearances on Seinfeld and Suddenly Susan. In the early 1980’s Kathy began performing in the early Los Angeles improve comedy troupe, The Groundlings. From there Kathy went on to perform stand-up and became part of the burgeoning alternative comedy scene in Los Angeles. Throughout the years Kathy became quite the television actress as she appeared in such films as Julie Brown’s Medusa: Dare to be Truthful, two appearances as Susan Klein on NBC’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Bob Goldthwait’s film Shakes The Clown, a dual role in The X-Files, ABC’s divorce attorney series Civil Wars and more recently, as a fashion channel reporter on Ugly Betty. After various TV guest spots, Kathy began being noticed for her comedic chops and landed her own “HBO Half hour Comedy Special”. Then in 1998, HBO gave Kathy her own one-hour special, “A Hot Cup of Talk”. She has been on the comedic map ever since. In August 2005 Kathy’s reality show, “Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List,” debuted on Bravo to rave reviews and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program. The second season of “Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List” won Kathy her first Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program. The third season of “Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List,” which premiered in 2007 won Kathy her second Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program. The fourth season was nominated again for Outstanding Reality Program. The fifth season of “D List” returned to Bravo in the summer of 2009 and the highly anticipated sixth season premiered this June. And now you can laugh with one of the funniest female comedians live at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace on Saturday, November 27. There’s nothing better than starting your holiday shopping with a night filled with celebrity gossip, and self-depreciating humor.
