Inspired by the observational skills he learned from his father, a New York City Detective, and his love for magic, McCambridge began entertaining audiences at the tender age of 12 and began touring the country at the age of 15. Over the years, he perfected his act by studying memory techniques, body language, hypnosis, linguistics, non-verbal communication, magic, acting, theatre, and stand-up comedy, leading him to craft the highly successful show he puts on today.

McCambridge began performing at the Rampart Casino in June 2005, where his one-man lounge show was voted the best in all of Las Vegas. He continued to perform sold-out shows before moving to the Stardust Casino, where he was the main headliner until the hotel closed. He then signed a contract to move his show to the Hooters Casino Hotel, where “The Mentalist” celebrated its 500th show last June.

In addition to being a successful Vegas headliner, McCambridge has also demonstrated his mindreading skills on The Today Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and the reality show Phenomenon. His talent also earned him a Merlin Award for “Mentalist of the Year” from the International Magicians Society, making him the first mentalist in history to receive a Merlin Award since the organization’s inception in 1968. And in 2004, McCambridge starred and produced his very own one-hour prime-time special on NBC, The Mentalist, which has aired in several countries all over the world.
