Beatles Mania!
Vegas always seems to change with the times, constantly updating and altering its appearance and attractions to meet the trends of the era. But one legendary trend that has never seemed to fade in Vegas is that of the Beatles. With tributes to the Beatles throughout the city, including LOVE, the Revolution Lounge, and Fab Four Mania, it becomes clear why America is still in “LOVE” with the rock icons. As one of the greatest musical groups of all time, the Beatles have permanently left their mark on the world with their music and their legendary journey through some of the most confusing times in American history.

Starting as just four teenagers in Liverpool, England, the group started as a garage band just trying to find a cheap way to express their love for music. Searching for the cheapest guitars, drums, and instruments that they could find, the group formed; having a gut feeling that something amazing was going to come from it. Six years later, they were instantly turned into the most famous music icons on the planet! With fans worldwide and girls, literally, falling at their feet for the chance to even catch a glimpse of them, “Beatlemania” began. Playing no more than half hour shows, girls and guys alike packed stadiums to the brim; just to get an earful of the pop-rock wonders. They influenced the era of the 60’s with their music, but, at the same time, the era began to define them.

The metamorphosis of the Beatles was what really intrigued people and drew them in. How the Beatles presented themselves through their music, and their ever-changing fashion trends, really reflected the time period they were in. As America was going through changes, the Beatles reflected the mood of the country in their music and appearance. If you look at all of the years of the Beatles, it is easy to see these changes. From clean-cut European boys to free-spirits of the 60’s youth, the Beatles represented the mood of the time. That is what makes the Beatles one of the greatest bands of all time. They have captured an eclectic mix of fans from generation after generation. Their music carries such great sustainability with it that it has had a lasting impression on the music and entertainment industry today. One of the best examples of this phenomenon can be seen in the Beatles’ influence on, none other, than Vegas.

Vegas is home to such an eclectic mix of people and tourists. The Beatles are able to provide something for everyone with their music, and this is reflected in the entertainment provided right here on the Vegas Strip. As one of the hottest shows in the country, LOVE takes the passion and spirit of the Beatles’ legend and combines it with the timeless songs of their era. Created by the late George Harrison and the creators of Cirque du Soleil, LOVE is the first time the Beatles have authorized the use of their recordings for theatrical use. The release of the songs paid off, however, with the show winning two Grammy’s for “Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television, or other Visual Medium” AND “Best Surround Sound Album” in 2008. The music has been twisted and turned into a contemporary show that truly captures the essence of the Beatles. With never before seen footage and montages of the group playing in the background, the show takes you through the different phases of the Beatles.

Tied to the LOVE show is the Beatles Revolution Lounge, inside the Mirage Hotel. Stemming off of the LOVE show, the Revolution Lounge extends the experience you have in the theater into the club. With a psychedelic environment and a contemporary interpretation of the Beatles, you will feel as if you have been blasted back in time to the era of the fabulous four. With DJs always spinning the hits of the Beatles, you will feel as if you never stepped foot out of the show.

If a new and modern form of the Beatles is not what you are looking for, then head over to Fab Four Mania. Performed by some of the best Beatles impersonators in the world, you will feel as if you are at the original Ed Sullivan Show performance. The cast pays extreme attention to detail, making the show seem even more realistic. The man who plays Paul McCartney even plays his guitar with his left hand, just as Paul did. With three costume changes, the cast truly depicts the years of Beatlemania.

As Vegas continues to change with the times, the influence that the Beatles have now taken on the Strip will surely remain the same. As one of the most influential musical groups of all time, the Beatles have truly left their mark on the Vegas scene. Known as a legend that will never die, the Beatles are here to stay.
