We all know Las Vegas hotels have incredible shopping from lines like Chanel and Louis Vuitton. If you want to look good while you have fun at the great Las Vegas nightclubs or even just checking out the sights of Sin City, your shopping options are endless! Well one of the more popular boutiques with young Vegas starlets is Betsey Johnson, and the designer herself came to Las Vegas to check out some great shows and participate in the three day AARP Convention at the Sands Convention Center located in the beautiful Venetian hotel. As part of her Vegas stay, Betsey also went to check out Cirque du Soleil’s LOVE at The Mirage. Betsey is known for her quirky personality. Even at her age Betsey still dresses in brightly colored clothes, dyes her hair platinum blonde and does cartwheels and splits down her own catwalks as part of her fashion show finales. Betsey’s clothing is colorful, cute and fun. Her line is not for the timid or for those of you that want to stay out of the spotlight. There’s plenty of pink, plenty of zebra print, bright flowers, studs and sparkles on her line of bags and accessories. We heard Betsey kept her own great personality as she stood in the aisles of The Mirage and danced with a glass of champagne in hand, singing along to all of The Beatles’ remastered and remixed hits produced especially for the Cirque du Soleil show. We’re sure she got plenty of inspiration for her next fashion collection from the amazing makeup and costumes that are part of every incredible Cirque du Soleil production. Never one to stay still, Betsey decided to get up close and personal with her fans by hosting a meet and greet over at the Miracle Mile shops where her boutique is located. It’s rare for Betsey to come out to Sin City, being a total New Yorker. She even hung out with Andy Warhol back in the 1960’s art movement in NYC, but in every picture we’ve seen of Betsey hopping around the city, she’s looked like she was having an excellent time. Along with the Cirque show and her meet and greet, Betsey also attended the AARP Convention at the Sands Convention Center. The AARP, or American Association of Retired Persons, is a society that caters to Americans age 50 and over and helps them live out a fruitful retirement. There’s no better icon of having a great life after 50 than Betsey Johnson! Always energetic and still doing what she loves, we couldn’t think of a better person to be a guest at the AARP convention.
