Busta Rhymes Performs at Marquee in Cosmopolitan
|
There were so many celebrities and sports stars in town for the Super Bowl it’s taken close to a week for me tell you about them. But in between all of the athletes and stars in town for the big game, there were a few concerts, birthdays and even a GOP presidential candidate!
Hip-hop star Busta Rhymes hosted Marquee Mondays at the Cosmopolitan on Monday. The rapper entertained the crowd with a 30-minute set of a few of his hits, both old and new.
To kick off his show, Busta first shouted congratulations to New York Giants on defeating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday. He then launched into his set, performing his newest single “Why Stop Now.” From there he went back in time through his hits including “Look At Me Now,” “Break Ya Neck,” “Touch It,” “Arab Money,” “I Know What You Want,” and “Pass the Courvoisier.”
After the impressive performance, Rhymes stayed at the Las Vegas nightclub until 4 a.m. drinking Dom Perignon Rose and requesting songs from DJ Eric DLux.
The Jabbawockeez, Marcus Gilbert of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Lance Bridge and Julius Peppers of the Chicago Bears, Lee Evans of the Baltimore Ravens and free agent quarterback Donovan McNabb were all spotted enjoying Rhymes set.
Over at the Hard Rock Hotel, Billy Duff of the band CULT enjoyed the Las Vegas casino after watching the Motley Crue concert at The Joint on Saturday night.
Football players Chicago Bears’ Lance Biggs, the Saints’ Roman Harper along with Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree of the San Francisco 49ers were also spotted at the Las Vegas hotel for the Super Bowl. After the game, the athletes headed to Vanity Nightclub for an after-party of the Lingerie Bowl IX .
Meanwhile, the newly crowned Miss Nevada Jade Kelsall celebrated her 26th birthday at Lavo All Night Tuesday in the Palazzo.
NASCAR star Dale Jarrett and NBA legend Charles Barkley sped through Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where the sports commentator hit over 150 miles per hour during the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure.
Plenty of celebrities enjoyed some of Las Vegas’ world-renowned restaurants this week including GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich who dined at Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio in the Venetian with Sheldon Adelson. He also enjoyed dinner with his wife Calista at Sushi Samba at the Palazzo while in town.
New York Yankees star player Alex Rodriguez dined at Wolfgang’s Spago in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace while Comedian Tim Allen had lunch at Emeril Lagasse’s Stadium bar in the Palazzo and Emmy-winning actress Jaime Pressly and boyfriend Hamzi Hijazi dined at Simon in Palms Place.
That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today, Check back tomorrow for this weekend’s celebrity preview.
