Yesterday Mindfreak magician Criss Angel heard the news that he will become the youngest practicioner of prestidigitation to be inducted into the International Magicians Hall of Fame. Headline star of Cirque du Soleil’s Believe at the Luxor will receive two of magic’s highest honors next Wednesday when the World of Magic Seminar kicks off at The Orleans. Hundreds of magic aficionados will be traveling to Las Vegas just for the special event. During the seminar Criss will receive two amazing honors and a major entertainment project for the summer. As the youngest magician to be inducted in the magic Hall of Fame, he will receive the Elite Diamond Merlin Award for his accomplishments. Criss will also be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award—The World Magic Legacy Award “A Living Legend”—at the World Magic Seminar. “I’m very honored to be inducted into the Magic Hall of Fame,” Criss said. “I’m incredibly thrilled to receive these most prestigious honors. Years and years of hard work, dedication, passion and discipline have been the ingredients to my success. I could never have achieved this without you.” Criss Angel will join the likes of Harry Houdini, Harry Blackstone Sr., Harry Blackstone Jr., Harry Kellar, Howard Thurston, Dante, Doug Henning, Richiardi and our hometown magicians David Copperfield, Siegfried 7 Roy and Penn & Teller. “Criss has joined the ranks of the greatest magicians in the world for doing so much for kids and for magic. I am honored to recognize him for all his accomplishments and support,” said Bob Rossi, executive producer of The World Magic Seminar. Besides being inducted into the Magic Hall of Fame, Criss has won numerous awards and has become the first-ever-six-time recipient of Magician of the Year, in addition to being named Magician of the Century, Magician of the Decade, Innovator of the Decade and winner of the International Lifetime Achievement Award. Criss has also been dedicated to help children through his BeLIEve Foundation and has received top awards for his work with Make-A-Wish Foundation.
