While the AVN Awards tomorrow night at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel may be the biggest and hottest news of the weekend, there’s more than just sex on the Strip here for the next two days. Concerts, comedians and plenty of celebrities round out the weekend’s festivities in The Entertainment Capital of the World. Tonight, The Zac Brown Band with special guests Sonia Leigh is at Mandalay Bay Events Center, Aaron Lewis at Aliante Station, and Motown’s Detroit All-Star at Cannery. Start your weekend with a good laugh as former SNL star David Spade brings his sarcasm and dry sense of humor to the Venetian for two nights. And while you’re at the Venetian make sure you check out Blue Man Group and Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular. Hit band Cobra Starship will also show off their performance talents this weekend with a show at the new 1OAK in the Mirage while Chromeo is at Haze in Aria. Cast members of Showtime’s hit show “Gigolos” host at the Men of Sapphire; ATB is at Tao in the Venetian; and Ronnie the Limo Driver of “The Howard Stern Show” hosts the “Hot Chick of the Week Contest” at Lavo in the Palazzo. On Saturday, The cast and creators of ABC’s “Cougar Town” – Courtney Cox, Christa Miller, Dan Byrd, Ian Gomez, Brian Van Holt, Josh Hopkins, Bob Clendenin and Bill Lawrence – host a viewing party at Las Vegas nightclub Moon in the Palms. Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia is at XS in Steve Wynn’s Encore; Grammy Award nominee Skrillex performs at nearby Surrender and Wyclef is at The Bank in the Bellagio. And of course, there will be a parade of porn stars Saturday night at The Joint in the Hard Rock for the 2012 AVN Awards. This year’s hosts include former Charlie Sheen “goddess” Bree Olsen and Sunny Leone with Dave Chappelle providing his dry sense of humor throughout the show. The weekend wraps with Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay and singer and comedian Jack Walker starts his monthly shows “Friends” with guests David Lucas and Garin Bader at Aliante Station. I just have to mention that Denver Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow attended Cirque du Soleil’s “O” at the Bellagio on Wednesday. The popular quarterback and former Gator posed backstage with “O” cast members after the 10 p.m. performance. It was Tim’s first time at a Cirque show, which he attended with his brother and three friends. That’s all the celebrity news I have for today. Check back Monday for this weekend’s complete celebrity wrap up, including highlights of the much-anticipated AVN Awards.
