Digging for Gold in Vegas

If you’ve ever wanted to strike gold while on vacation (and who doesn’t) I just might have the perfect opportunity for you! I’m proud and excited to announce the newest Hoover Dam Tour to our already stellar Hoover Dam lineup! It’s called the Hoover Dam Mining Town Motorcoach Tour and I think you just might be surprised at how rich it is!

You’ll begin your mine adventure at the 1880’s Eldorado Canyon Mine where you’ll explore the mine both inside and out as you travel above and below ground for a fascinating tour through the oldest, richest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada.

The tour begins with a walking tour of the old Techatticup Millsite, where ore was brought out of the mine and separated into gold and silver. From there you’ll journey into the Savage Mine about 500 feet where you will be able to see the actual veins that the miners chased.

And if that’s not enough Nevada history for you, enjoy a two-hour guided tour through the historic Hoover Dam. Visitors will get an in-depth view of the massive dam as they tour the visitor center, exhibit halls and power plant.

For all of you adventurists out there, you can add the optional ATV and horseback riding tours on to your mining tour. The ATV tour is a half-hour back country trip through Nevada’s awesome landscapes. And for a full Western experience the horseback ride option is exactly what you’re looking for! Spend an hour feeling like John Wayne while riding through beautiful cactus country. If you choose not to add the ATV or horseback ride to your tour you will explore the mine for the full two hours.

After viewing the beautiful sites of the Eldorado Mine and riding horseback or ATV style through Nevada’s landscape (if you chose to) Hoover Dam guests will get a short stop at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory stop and Cacti and Botanical Gardens. Guests will learn how this delicious chocolate is made and nosh on some of their favorite samples before taking a stroll through an array of Nevada’s most interesting cacti. The Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Cacti and Botanical Gardens are the perfect way to cap off a busy day of Nevada touring.

And did I mention this fabulous tour offers free hotel-to-hotel pickup, exclusive check-in at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, a delicious box lunch for hungry guests, and of course many photo opportunities including Lake Mead, Colorado River and Arizona Look out. Once you experience this special mining tour you’ll know you’ve struck gold!
