Celebrating Separation

Whether he broke your heart or you broke his, it’s just another reason to have a party in Vegas (as if you really need a reason at all). Divorce parties are the new craze in Sin City. With divorce rates at an all time high, the ladies (and sometimes even the men) are cashing in their alimony checks and heading to the city where anything is possible. Whatever you need to help you move on, Vegas has it: Jim, Jack, Ben & Jerry, or maybe you’ll even settle for any Tom, Dick, or Harry. Either way—they’re all here!

There are really two types of divorce parties that are the most common. There are the relaxing parties that usually consist of a small group of girls who take advantage of the spa, enjoy delicious cuisine, and basically just take it easy. These types of parties are much more common among women who have just gotten out of a long messy divorce and are looking to unwind and de-stress. Although, Vegas may seem like a party town; there are plenty of places to relax. The Canyon Ranch Spa is one of our favorites. They offer a unique selection of full-body treatments from all over the world. Try a Pumpkin and Cranberry Cocoon Wrap or work up a sweat on the 40-foot rock wall. If you want to indulge in some decadent deserts, check out Jean-Phillipe Patisserie at the Bellagio. The storefront is home to an eye-catching 27-foot tall chocolate fountain which pumps almost two tons of chocolate. All of his decadent creations are made on-site, with over 70 chefs working in the kitchen. The pastries are 67 to 97 percent chocolate, giving all the desserts a rich chocolate flavor. Jean-Phillipe also does not believe in using preservatives so the shelf life for his products is only about two weeks. The Patisserie is also home to giant chocolate sculptures that change regularly. These sculptures are unique works of art and it is worth coming to the Patisserie just to see them. Who needs men, when you can have chocolate?

The other type of divorce party is one that starts with a bang and ends with a (pun intended) bang. Looking for Mr. Right (#2)? You just must find him at the naughty Chippendales show. The Chippendales are exactly what the doctor ordered after a bad breakup. No wonder your marriage didn’t work out! Chances are, your ex didn’t look anything like these scrumptious pieces of eye candy. Another great thing about the Chippendales show is that you can actually meet the cast over a few drinks after the performance in the Flirt Lounge located just outside the theatre.  After your cheeks are red from talking to a Chippendale, head to Blush. One of the smaller, more intimate clubs in Vegas, Blush makes it easy to mingle with some of the hottest people in town. Get the girls together, reserve a table in the VIP section, and make the guys come to you. If that doesn’t work, you can always “accidentally” spill a drink on the hottest guy in the club and then insist on helping him clean it off. Come on, this is Vegas, no one’s judging you.

So whether your divorce party involves a quiet relaxing vacation or a wild time with the girls who stuck by you, you will find exactly what (or who) you’re looking for in Las Vegas.
