It seems that there is a bar almost every ten feet in Las Vegas. Everywhere you look there is beer, liquor, or wine being sold by the pint, the glass, the bottle, and even sometimes by the yard. However, don’t waste your time getting liquored up just anywhere; head to the best of the best and sample some drinks that you won’t find anywhere else in the country and in some cases, anywhere in the world.
The argument about who has the best drinks in town will probably continue for a very long time. So, we are prepared to call it a tie and tell you top few drink spots in town. The first drink you should try is the Witch Doctor which is served only at the Voodoo Lounge atop the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Before the drink is even served, the bartenders will put on a little bit of a show while mixing it. Voodoo bartenders are considered some of the best flair bartenders in town. So don’t get scared when they throw a bottle of liquor or two in the air; chances are they know what they are doing. The drink is a mix of four rums and tropical juices. It’s tropically, fruity, and delicious. The award-winning drink is one of the most popular at the bar and the ingredients are known only to a select few.
Another drink that you will probably not actually have the pleasure of tasting (unless you hit the jackpot on the Megabucks machine) is the Menage a Trois which is served at Tryst nightclub at the Wynn. The Meage a Trois is a cocktail mixed with Cristal Rose, Hennessy Elipse, and Grand Marnier Cent-cinquantenaire. The drink is sprinkled with 23 karat gold flakes and topped with liquid gold syrup. Make no mistake this drink is expensive. But, if you really want to break the bank you can order it with solid gold straw decorated with a 9-point diamond. With the keepsake straw, this drink goes for an outrageous $3,000.
If you can’t afford $3,000 per drink, then head to Red Square at Mandalay Bay. Vodka lovers beware. Red Square has them all. This Russian themed restaurant serves so many types of vodka that many people chicken out and just order a sampling; because just reading through the menu can be tiring. However, true vodka troopers will look through the menu and select a specific high-quality vodka and as a reward they will be able to drink they’re bottle in a specially designed “vodka freezer.” The cocktail waitresses will set up you and your friends inside the freezer and give you traditional Russian fur coats to keep warm. If you don’t want to spend the night in a secluded freezer, just sitting at the bar is an experience in itself because the bar is made entirely of ice to ensure that your martini stays cool to the very last drop. There is no better place in town for vodka.
Looking for something a little sweeter? Try the wide selection of rum choices at Rumjungle at Mandalay Bay. The club boasts the largest rum bar in the world with so many options that bartenders may have to climb ladders just to retrieve your selection. The bartenders here will also suggest some fruity concoctions of their own. Even in the desert, a taste of the tropics is only sips away.
If you’re not really into the hard stuff and prefer a more refined vintage bottle of wine then dine at Aureole. With thousands of bottles to choose from, “wine angels” will have to “fly” through a glass tower in order to retrieve your selection. Many of the wines found at this award-winning steakhouse are flown-in directly from France and can’t be found anywhere else in the city.
The truth is that no matter what type of drink you’re accustomed to, Las Vegas will have the very best of it. If you are not so picky about what you drink you can always just drink for free while gambling at any of the major casinos. Yes, that’s right, as long as you are sitting at a table or a slot in a casino and betting money your drinks will be on the house. Don’t free drinks just taste better?
