Hopping Around Vegas on Easter Sunday

Come celebrate and repent your, um, sins in Vegas? Ok, we will admit it. Vegas is usually known as a place people go to let lose and do “bad” things. However, Las Vegas has more churches per capita than almost any city in the U.S. Although these churches are normally famous for the amount of weddings that take place here, on Easter everyone gathers for church services that seem to take over the city.

After church, take the family to one of the famous Las Vegas Easter brunches. One of the favorites on Easter is Bally’s Sterling Brunch. Although you may not want to indulge on Easter, the brunch offers unlimited champagne. The Sterling Buffet steps up their already decadent food just for Easter Sunday. They offer items like sliced Nova, caviar, sushi, and of course unlimited champagne and mimosas.  Their spread of entrees, appetizers, pastries, and desserts is unmatched. White linens and fancy table settings give the dining room a classy feel for a buffet.

If your family wants to taste some traditional Easter sweets and treats, the Cupcakery will have exactly what you’re looking for. The cupcakes at this bakery are hand made and they are one of a kind. Designed especially for Easter with colorful eggs, these pastries make the perfect treat for any Easter gathering or just for an after church snack.

If you’re looking to enjoy an upscale dinner, Strip House at Planet Hollywood is offering a special Easter dinner menu. Easter specialties include: a grilled asparagus salad, roasted loin of lamb with mint Israeli cous cous, peas and roasted carrots and a warm strawberry rhubarb tart with vanilla ice cream.

The kids are probably looking for one thing…an Easter egg hunt, and there are plenty around town. There will be Free Egg Hunt for children ages 2-11 at the Rafael Rivera Community Center on Friday March 21st from 10-11 a.m. The community center is located on Stewart Ave. Kids can bring their own baskets. Making Easter baskets is a fun activity for parents and kids to do together. Once the kids get to the Easter Egg Hunt they will have the chance to search for prizes and candy in true Easter tradition. There will also be another Easter Egg Hunt at Children’s Memorial Park on Saturday March 22 at 11:30 a.m. Children will search for eggs and prizes and then have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Older children may have more fun searching for Easter eggs in the dark. The Flashlight Egg Hunt will take place Friday March 14 at dusk at the Robison Community School. This hunt is for children ages 12-15 only and everyone must bring their own flashlight.

Easter should be fun for the whole family. Even in Sin City, there are plenty of church services, Easter brunches, and egg hunts that are family friendly. Who knows? You may even see a bunny or two hopping down the Strip. Yet, don’t be surprised if it’s actually just Elvis wearing bunny ears.
