What’s the one thing you think of when you hear Las Vegas? Is it the popular casinos and hotels like the Bellagio or Mandalay Bay or is it the infamous Cirque du Soleil shows you hear so much about like Ka, Zumanity and Love? Perhaps it’s neither. If you’re like most people when you hear Las Vegas you think of one thing and one thing only, or shall we say one person, Elvis Presley! He captured the Strip like no other performer has and long after his death Elvis Presley is still entertaining the masses in Sin City. From tribute shows like Cirque du Soleil’s Viva Elvis to Legends in Concert and the Elvis look-alikes that flood the Strip, The King of Rock and Roll is, in my opinion, one of the most fascinating things about Las Vegas. And today, on the 33rd anniversary of his death, Elvis Presley will once again mesmerize his fans. Starting today, Elvis Aaron Presley, The King of Rock and Roll and the all-time Las Vegas headliner, will be remembered atMadame Tussauds Las Vegas. “Madame Tussauds is very excited to recognize Elvis, his Las Vegas history and his many fans,” said Attraction Manager Rosita Chapman. Madame Tussauds will feature an Elvis display featuring a young Elvis with sideburns, wearing a replica leather outfit. Visitors can line up to have their photo taken with The King, and an Elvis DJ will be featured in front of the attraction from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. And for those of you who spend every year honoring The King in your best Elvis attire, you will be admitted for free to this special Elvis attraction as long as you continue your tradition! “Karaoke With the King” will be in the Onstage Room, and a second Elvis is on display in the Viva Vegas Room. Madame Tussauds was recently in the news for unveiling figures Chuck Liddell, Snoop Dogg, Kathy Griffin, Rafiki from Disney’s “The Lion King”, Wayne Brady from Making It Up and President Obama and the Oval Office Experience. Aside from featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities and iconic figures, Madame Tussauds recently launched one of their newest and scariest attractions to date, Scream! One Way Out. The only permanent scare maze in Las Vegas, Scream! One Way Out features the criminally insane workers from the top secret Area 51. Filled with the creepiest wax figures in the whole place, this ghastly attraction is a welcome twist to Madame Tussauds celebrity wax figures. Although this attraction is open all year long, Scream! One Way Out is perfect for the month of October as Las Vegas gears up for the biggest spooks of the year! Stay tuned for more news on Madame Tussauds and the Elvis Presley remembrance wax figure.
