If you’re a devout follower of American Idol, knowing every past contestant and winner, you will be pleased to know that American Idol Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino will be celebrating the release of her third album Back to Me, which dropped Tuesday, with an official album release party and performance at Rain in the Palms late tomorrow night/early Saturday morning. Fantasia has spent some time in the news this month. On August 9, she was hospitalized in North Carolina after overdosing on aspirin and an unknown sleep aid. The Police Department classified the incident as a suicide attempt, and in transcripts released the day before an interview on VH1’s Behind the Music, Fantasia confirmed that the incident was a suicide attempt. “I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out. At that moment, I wanted out.” Thankfully Fantasia survived and seems to have bounced back with a new album and a special performance this weekend at Rain. We look forward to her musical talents and her new album. And speaking of famous singers, Vanilla Ice performed a few of his hit songs at Pure in Caesars Palace on Tuesday night after arriving with a large entourage, including his DJ, manager and friends. The group enjoyed Grey Goose, Jagermeister and Coronas. The rapper performed “Ninja Rap,” “Play That Funky Music,” “Turn It Up” and he couldn’t end the night without singing the song that made him popular, “Ice Ice Baby.” New Orleans rapper Lloyd was at Aria for a performance this week. He sang “Girls Around the World,” “Get It Shorty” and “Bed Rock”. After the show a cake was brought to the stage and the crowd joined Lloyd in singing Happy Birthday to his mom, sister and aunt, who were all in Las Vegas celebrating their birthdays. Reality TV star Stephanie Pratt was spotted dining at Stack and partying at Jet in The Mirage. Also at the famous hotel was Holly’s World co-star Angel Porrino celebrating a girlfriend’s birthday. As for tonight’s festivities, Andrew Dice Clay will be hosting the Bump ‘n’ Grind contest at Tao in The Venetian, as Las Vegas sexiest women compete in the first lap dance challenge with $5,000 in cash and prizes. And perhaps one of the bigger events of the night includes The Fantasy Football Super Draft at the Palms. Ashton Kutcher will host Fantasy Football Live, Stacy Keibler hosts the VIP nightclub in Rain, and famous rapper Snoop Dogg performs at the official tailgate party. If you’re a sports fan you might want to hit up Vegas over the next few days as this event is sure to bring in plenty of pro athletes and cheerleaders.
