In Vegas everyone is free to be themselves, to take a break from the restraints of society and just be free to do…whatever! The free spirit of the city makes Vegas a favorite destination spot for gay and lesbian couples as well as singles. Although Vegas is known for having a plethora of gay bars, there is a lot more to the gay community here than just nightlife. Hotels, restaurants, shows, and even strip clubs are dedicated entirely to gay entertainment. When it comes to lodging, the Blue Moon Resort is the perfect spot. Blue Moon is Las Vegas’ only gay resort and it happens to come equipped with all the amenities. Suites include pillow top mattresses, luxurious bedding with down comforters, and all the amenities that you would expect at a luxury resort. The hotel offers a lagoon style pool with waterfall and Jacuzzi. There is also a sauna and an internet lounge available for use. Poolside barbeques get pretty wild on Sundays (seasonally) and a continental breakfast is also offered to guests each morning. For dinner, try Suede Restaurant and Lounge. Not just a bar, they serve a full menu of delicious food in a gay-friendly atmosphere. At night Suede becomes a sleek ultra-lounge. So don’t forget to stick around. Karaoke and other themed nights take place weekly so call ahead to see what festivities are taking place that night. When it comes to nightlife there are plenty of options. Many of the gay clubs can be found in an area of Las Vegas known as the “Fruit Loop,” a small circle of clubs that are ALL gay friendly. The most famous of theses clubs is the complex that includes 8-1/2 and Piranha. On most nights, these clubs will be the best in town for gay nightlife. 8-1/2 is sleek and upscale with a relaxing lounge vibe perfect for a first date or just making new friends while Piranha has a high-intensity nightclub vibe where dancing is a must! If you’re staying in a hotel on the strip, it might be more convenient to head to Krave. Krave is known as one of the only gay clubs located right on the strip. Located next to the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, Karave is a lounge, nightclub, and theatre all in one. The club is also home to the infamous Lucky Cheng’s Drag Cabaret. Lucky Cheng’s is cool, witty, and tons of fun if you’re willing to let go of your inhibitions a little bit. Tickets for Lucky Cheng’s must be purchased in advance as this is not just your average cabaret show; it’s the best drag show in Las Vegas! If you’re looking for more gay entertainment spots, check out La Cage at the Riviera. This drag show is more than just a good time. It’s a very serious impersonation show. The “girls” on this stage dress, sing, dance, and act just like your favorite artists. This show has been running for almost 22 years and it is a crowd favorite. If you’re looking for something a little more risqué visit the Golden Banana Club. This strip club is all-male and all-nude. Ladies must be accompanied by a male companion to gain entrance. Golden Banana is the ultimate in all-nude gay entertainment when it comes to Las Vegas. So let lose in Sin City and let your true colors show in one of the most gay-friendly cities in the U.S.!
