If you love Las Vegas hotels and casinos and spend nearly all your time in them, then you might want to consider actually making some money from your pastime – you know, in a way that doesn’t involve a lucky win at slots or Texas Hold’em. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has a few vacant job positions, 800 of them to be exact, as a result of the property’s current $750 million expansion.
The Hard Rock recently hired 400 employees and plans to hire roughly 800 more before the end of 2009, when the hotel will be opening its newest towers.
“We are thrilled to be moving right along with our expansion, and as a result providing jobs for so many people,” said Carrie Messina, vice president of human resources for the Hard Rock. “Hard Rock is looking for the most talented, highly motivated, expert staff Las Vegas has to offer.”
Positions that the hotel is looking to fill include call dealers, housekeeping staff, bellmen, front desk agents, room reservation agents, and Environmental Services attendants. A series of job fairs will be held in the hotel throughout the summer, the specific dates and times of which will be announced soon.
When the Hard Rock’s expansion is completed, the rock and roll-themed hotel and casino will be more than triple its original size. Recent opened additions from the expansion include the newly remodeled, $60 million concert venue The Joint; lavish tattoo lounge Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company; 51,000 additional square feet of meeting and convention space; and the sleek new modern steakhouse, Rare 120º.
Openings yet to come include an all-suite 15-story south tower, a new 17-story north tower, 30,000 square feet of additional casino space, multiple new retail outlets, a new spa and health club, a newly expanded pool, and perhaps the most anticipated of all, a new nightclub. When said nightclub finally opens, sources say that current Hard Rock night spot Body English will shift to an emphasis on after-hours, contrary to previous reports stating that the nightclub would close at the end of the year.
The massive expansion, which began in 2007, is expected to be completely finished in early 2010.
As for job seekers, those hoping to nab a spot at the Hard Rock can check up to the minute job postings on the hotel’s website. The resort will also be posting “Hot Jobs of the Day” through its Twitter feed.
