So far the first two weeks of 2012 have been busy ones here in The Entertainment Capital of the World. Celebrities, athletes, politicians and reality TV stars have all hit the Strip since New Year’s to take in some of Sin City’s best entertainment, dining and nightclubs.
Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was seen at The Venetian’s Winter in Venice with a cup of hot Chocolate. This week she partied at popular Las Vegas nightclub Lavo in the Palazzo this past weekend for her boyfriend Jarod Einsohn’s 28th birthday. The “Ghost Whisperer” actress and her “Eagle Eye” beau enjoyed dinner with friends at the Italian eatery before partying the night away at the boutique nightclub. At dinner, the group enjoyed favorites including the Kobe meatball and margherita pizza and sipped Saggio specialty cocktails. Dinner was capped off with a birthday cake for the birthday boy before the real party started upstairs where they took over a VIP table and danced all night to the sounds of DJ C*LA. Over at sister nightclub Tao in the Venetian, Apl.De.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas entertained the crowd with a 2-hour set that included hip-hop, house, Journey and, of course, Black Eyed Peas hits. Before his performance he enjoyed dinner at Tao where he dined on Buddha chicken and sea bass and then listened to the sounds of DJ Politik. Drake, who performed at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel on New Year’s Day, enjoyed dinner with friends at Lavo in the Palazzo while in town. A table away, Margot Robbie from ABC’s “Pan Am” enjoyed her first visit to The Entertainment Capital of the World as she and her girlfriends sipped cocktails and tried Lavo’s Kobe meatballs. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and cast members of Showtime’s hit series “Gigolos’ celebrated Marklen Kennedy’s birthday at the new Hyde nightclub in the Bellagio. A few familiar faces spent the first week of the New Year taking in some Las Vegas shows including Arizona Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords and her astronaut husband Mark Kelly who met Celine Dion backstage after her show at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace. Dr. Drew Pinsky attended Criss Angel’s Believe at the Luxor and visited the Magician of the Century backstage afterwards. Jonathan Davis of Korn was also at the popular Las Vegas Cirque show while retired MLB player Jose Canseco watched the Beatles “Love” at the Mirage. With his seventh album set to release later this year, rapper and actor Nelly already has much to be thankful for in 2012, and he shared his excitement with partygoers at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in the Paris with a high-energy set that included his hits, “Shake Ya Tailfeather” and “Ride Wit Me.” After his performance, Nelly partied with his entourage of 20 and enjoyed a cigar, Peach Ciroc cocktails and Moet Rose.
