Sopranos: Straight From Your TV to Las Vegas
The Sopranos TV series may be over, but the show must go on…especially here in Las Vegas! Based off of the hit HBO drama series The Sopranos, “The Sopranos’: Last Supper” celebrates one of the best television series to ever appear on television in a fun, interactive, and exciting dinner show experience.

The Sopranos TV series ran from January 1999 to June 2007. Spanning over six seasons and 86 episodes, the TV show came to dramatic end with the infamous “black-out screen ending” that shocked, and even disappointed, America. Created by David Chase, the show drew heavily from Chase’s personal life and experiences with growing up in New Jersey, as well as his long-time love of mobster and gangster films. Chase thought it would only be appropriate to film the show in none-other than New Jersey, to capture the essence of the characters and his real life experiences. Set and produced in New Jersey, the show revolves around head mobster Tony Soprano and the drama he faces as he attempts to balance his family life and the criminal organization in which he is head of.

The show focuses on portraying the lives of Italian-Americans growing up in the whirlwind of mobster drama. The show was often found controversial, due to its appeared negative stereotype of Italian-Americans. David Chase defended his show by saying that the show was not intended to provide a negative stereotype to this group of Americans; it is just showing a small criminal subculture. Despite some negative controversy the show was highly accepted among Americans everywhere! It has been the most financially successful cable series to ever be on television and one of the greatest TV shows of all time. The actors of the show had no problem portraying characters on the show, despite it’s often viewed negative stereotypes. The actors on the show, if anything, removed those stereotypes by being made up of nearly all Italian-Americans. Many Italian-Americans of Hollywood are actually often cast as mafia types and many of the actors on the show had actually appeared in films and television shows (of this type) together before. 27 of the actors on The Sopranos were actually in the original gangster classic “Goodfellas” and eight were in “Mickey Blue Eyes.” The show revolved around classic gangster movies, of yesterday, such as these, as well as The Godfather. The gangster motif must have paid off, because The Sopranos throughout its six seasons won 21 Emmys and five Golden Globes, making it a true pop culture icon of the 2000’s.

America seems to be intrigued by the mobster and gangster lifestyles of old Northeastern American history. Books, video games, soundtracks, and more followed the television show, showing that Americans just can’t get enough. Now, The Sopranos have done it again. With “The Sopranos’: Last Supper,” audience members can feel like they are living out their favorite TV show. Join the Baritone family, a spoof off of the name Sopranos, as they celebrate one last time at the Bada Bang Nightclub after Tony’s indictment and patiently await the announcement of incarceration. Tony, Sil’, Paulie, and all of your favorite characters are here performing in a hilarious spoof off of the hit TV series. The 90 minute show gets the entire audience involved, as you dine to great Italian cuisine. Audience members must be 18 years of age or older, due to moments of stylized violence and some crude humor. If you loved the TV show, you will love this Las Vegas show! Make sure to check it out!
