Madonna Heading to Las Vegas for Permanent Show?

Las Vegas is already home to some of the biggest musicians of our time. From Cher to Celine Dion, and many in between, the Strip is a musical powerhouse. And rumor has it that Las Vegas is about to get one more globally recognized musician and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it!

It’s been a long sought-after dream for at least one Las Vegas hotel to land Madonna as a new resident superstar, and there’s been some strong rumors out of London that the Material Girl might be considering a move to the Strip.

According to Britain’s daily newspaper The Sun, has reported that there’s a $1 billion offer on the table for the pop diva to sign on the dotted line for a 5-year run of shows similar to the number of performances that Sir Elton John and Cher have performed annually in the past.

The spot where Madonna will set up shop is rumored to be The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where Elton John headlined and Cher currently resides. The Sun reports that Madonna is seriously considering the deal and the move to mount a permanent Strip production.

But before you get too excited keep in mind that Madonna is currently in the midst of an already multiyear, mega-million-dollar contract with Live, who is a rival of Anschutz Entertainment Group.  And the problem is Anschutz Entertainment Group oversees The Colosseum.

A pop insider has said that Madonna has been carefully watching the unbelievable rising star power of Lady Gaga’s current Monster Ball Tour, which was at MGM Grand Garden Arena last Friday, and that she is not yet ready to be eclipsed by the “newcomer who she feels has usurped parts of her original stage shows.”

An insider also reported to expect immediate denials about the story from Madonna’s camp and at least one Las Vegas hotel group. But despite those, there are still continuous talks about the basic business terms.

There’d be nothing more exciting than having Madonna right here in Vegas for the next five years. We sure hope there is more truth than lies to this rumor. Madonna would make an excellent addition to Caesars Palace’s already impressive lineup.

I will keep a close eye on this breaking news story and will report back as soon as I learn more. Until then if you want to see where Madonna’s new home might be, you can always catch other music superstars like Cher or Celine Dion at Caesars Palace. And if you’re looking to catch a few laughs, Jerry Seinfeld and Chelsea Handler also perform at the infamous hotel. So what are you waiting for? Until we know more about Madonna, there’s still plenty to see and do on the Strip, especially at Caesars Palace!
