Madonna Coming to Vegas

Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” Tour has already sold over one million tickets, breaking her previous record for top-grossing female artist. However, all this good news comes on the eve of her and Guy Ritchie’s rumored breakup. It has been reported that the couple has even sought out some high profile divorce lawyers for legal advice. While her personal life has gained most of the media’s attention, Madonna has urged people not to focus on this aspect of her life and instead not forget her documentary “I Am Because We Are,” which discussed the effects of AIDS on children in Africa. While filming in Africa, Madonna even decided to adopt a child who had lost his parents to the disease. The film was directed by husband Guy Ritchie and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month. Madonna has already agreed to do a sequel and urges fans to focus on her charity work and music instead of her personal problems.

No matter the reason, it seems that fans haven’t lost interest in the pop star. Her tour has sold almost 90% of tickets including sold out dates in Boston, Chicago, and New York. She will be performing live in Las Vegas on November 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tickets are already selling for upwards of $300. Live Nation, the tour’s sponsor, has already reported that ticket sales are projected to reach $250 million in sales and Las Vegas is one of the dates that are expected to sell-out.  Rooms at the MGM Grand for the weekend are going fast. Rates for Saturday November 7 at the MGM may be as high as $350 per night. If you don’t want to stay too far from the concert, reserve a room across the street at the New York-New York or Excalibur hotels. Both hotels will have discounted rates on that weekend.

Most likely this will not be Madonna’s last concert in Las Vegas. She has told press that at this point in her career she only wants to play large venues and Las Vegas seems to be the perfect place for the pop-star. Although she will only be in town for one night, fans have been scrambling for tickets since the announcement. Madonna’s extravagant dance routines and hip lyrics have kept her act updated and relevant to a younger audience. Her ever-changing pop star image fits perfectly with the landscape of the Las Vegas Strip. Tickets for Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour are on sale now.

Although she is receiving much praise for her high ticket sales, Madonna is dealing with some personal issues of her own. Rumors of a divorce from her 8-year marriage with Guy Ritchie won’t seem to go away. It has even been reported that Madonna is seeking legal advice from the same lawyer who represented Paul McCartney in his divorce from Heather Mills. It is estimated that Madonna is worth a reported $300 million and Madonna and Guy Ritchie did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement which means that Guy Ritchie could walk away with a large portion of her net worth if she is not careful. Divorce rumors began quickly after the couple adopted their new son, David, while filming their documentary in Africa. Madonna stated that she wished she could adopt all of the children that she saw in orphanages but, for some reason David stood out to her.
