After an evening of beauty pageant rivalry and three weeks of pageant work including photo shoots, meet-and-greets, public appearances and interviews the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant contestants celebrated their journey to the stage and Monday night’s broadcast from Mandalay Bay with a little relaxation and fun at LAX in the Luxor. The 2010 Miss Universe Pageant winner, Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete of Guadalajara, Mexico was one of the first spotted on the red carpet outside LAX. Thunderous applause and cheers of “Mex-i-co! Mex-i-co! Mex-i-co!” could be heard throughout Mandalay Bay and the Luxor as Navarrete entered the nightclub. A number of other hopefuls, as well as present and past beauty queens, also walked the red carpet before entering the nightclub. Navarrete was joined inside LAX by Miss Universe hosts Brett Michaels and Natalie Morales, as well as judges Chazz Palminteri, Criss Angel, and The Roots who performed during the pageant. Actor, writer and producer William Baldwin, Olympic figure skating gold medalist Evan Lysacek, singer and actress Chynna Philips, drummer and singer Sheila E., MSNBC host Tamron Hall, actress Jane Seymour, supermodel and Niki Taylor were also judges at the 2010 Miss Universe competition but were not seen at LAX after the broadcast. While at LAX the Miss Universe contestants and judges enjoyed a VIP table near the deejay booth and sipped on Trump vodka, Jose Cuervo Platino Tequila and champagne. Last year’s Miss Universe, Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela also joined the party. Some of the Miss Universe contestants were quite popular as they partied inside LAX. Miss Japan Maiko Itai and Miss Canada Elena Semikina drew in plenty of attention in their gorgeous outfits. And speaking of outfits, some of the contestants seemed to go right from the pageant to the nightclub as they still had on their evening gowns, while some changed into sexier and shorter attire. Miss USA Rima Fakih was reportedly not at LAX for the celebrations. It was rumored that she skipped the party to be with her family. However, 2008 Miss USA Crystle Stewart hit the red carpet with a very handsome guest. The couple was very popular with the crowd and the cameras. It sure was a suspenseful evening for the contestants and we’re glad they were able to enjoy some free time at LAX in the Luxor before heading home. Congratulations again to Miss Mexico Jemina Navarette and we hope to see her back in Las Vegas very soon! Check back later for details on the 2011 Miss USA pageant. Rumor has it that it will indeed be back in Vegas next year! And since the 2010 Miss Universe pageant did so well, we hope to welcome it back in 2011 as well!
