Nineties Stars in Sin City
|
|
Ladies and gentlemen, the nineties are back. Well, so are the 80’s in a way, but in Las Vegas there has been a resurgence of 90’s stars hosting parties and bands playing at popular Las Vegas hotel venues. Just this weekend Vanilla Ice was at Studio 54 located at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino not only to put on a live performance, but to celebrate his birthday. There were even special drinks like the Vanilla Ice and the Keeping it (Sur)real to commemorate the event. Rob Zombie, who first became popular in the 1990’s with his band White Zombie, was in town at The Pearl Theatre to perform to his loyal fans. We’re sure he enjoyed the Trinity of Terrors convention at The Palms as well, since Rob Zombie has moved from music to directing, recently directing his own remake of the Halloween franchise. White Zombie was well known for their song “More Human Than Human” and other hits like “Thunder Kiss ’65.” If you ever stop by LAX nightclub at the Luxor hotel you might want to make sure you’re there on a Wednesday if you want to run into some of your favorite music and television stars from the 1990’s. Every Wednesday at LAX you can check out Way Back Wednesdays, a special party put on by the PURE management group. Way Back Wednesdays has already gained a lot of popularity. It’s had hosts like Shannen Doherty from 90210 and figure skater/boxer Tonya Harding. There are always new celebs showing up at Way Back Wednesdays so make sure you check out LAX nightclub at the Luxor for your own dose of the 90’s the next time you’re in town. If you’re a big fan of 90’s music and still have it on constant rotation on your CD player, you’re going to love the great concerts coming to Las Vegas next month. Third Eye Blind is back on tour to promote their latest album at PURE Night Club this November. You probably remember their song “Semi-Charmed Life” especially trying to figure out the words to the fast parts, so make sure you check them out at PURE to hear both old and new songs. Everclear is also coming to the Hard Rock Live on November 7th to perform hits like “Father of Mine” and “Santa Monica.” If you’re more of an R+B person and miss your old 90’s radio hits, you can go out to the Planet Hollywood on November 6th to see R.Kelly perform “Bump and Grind” and his famous “I Believe I Can Fly.” So no matter where you go in Las Vegas you might just run into your favorite 90’s celebrity or see them performing live in concert
