Aside from being Cirque’s only aquatic show and a unique performance at that, “O” just celebrated another amazing feat, their 10 millionth visitor! On Thursday night Kathy Smogowicz from Connecticut found herself in the spotlight a Cirque du Soleil’s show “O” in the Bellagio. Before the curtain went up, two clowns from the aquatic production brought her onstage to her astonishment, telling her she was the 10 millionth audience member! Kathy’s reward for being the 10 millionth visitor was a return trip to Las Vegas, along with a two-night stay at the Bellagio and two tickets for another Cirque du Soleil show of her choice. Kathy certainly got her money’s worth Thursday night and now we wonder which of the seven Cirque du Soleil shows she will pick to see on her return visit to Sin City! Who knows, maybe she’ll be the 10 millionth visitor to KA or Mystere! For those of you who haven’t seen “O” it is one of the most amazing combinations of both aerial and aquatic performances combined with an impressive usage of water. “O” titled for the way in which eau (the French word for water) is pronounced, explores the essential and often unnoticed role that water plays in our lives and the elegance and infinity of water in its purest form. This stunning production utilizes a 1.5 million gallon pool throughout the production in which Cirque performers engage in amazing displays of synchronized swimming, ballet and acrobatics in and above the water. From the beginning you’ll dive into a journey that flows from baptism to boat rides, re-iterating the role water plays in our everyday lives. And like most Cirque shows “O” incorporates acts of human strength which are performed by over 81 performers on a floor that covers the massive lake in a matter of seconds. “O” has been named as the Best Las Vegas Production Show for the 2nd year in a row and has brought in more than 2 million patrons. In fact it’s brought in 10 million as Kathy Smogowicz just discovered! And who knows, you could be the 11 millionth visitor to the show if you get there fast enough! But either way, whether you’re the 11th or 12 millionth visitor to this popular Cirque du Soleil show you’ll be absolutely amazed at the performers ability to swim, dance and act within the water. It’s a performance unlike any other on the Strip and you really must go see how amazing it is! “O” performs twice nightly at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. So no more excuses, you have plenty of time to go see this production. It’s time you dove in!
