Princess of Magic

There is a new face in town on the magic circuit and that’s right, she’s a woman. Scarlett, the Princess of Magic will star at the V Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino for a period of six months. She is one of very few female magicians ever to make headline status in Las Vegas. Her show is family-friendly and involves the use of many large scale illusions as well as smaller illusions with animals. In fact, Scarlett uses five of her personal pets during the show. One of her tricks involves her sliding effortlessly through the blades of a moving fan. She also performs escape acts that were originally made popular by Harry Houdini. One of her acts involves her being shackled while dangling upside down in a tank of water. This trick was never meant for a woman. However, Scarlett performs it with ease.

Scarlett has worked very hard to get where she is. Growing up in Reno, she always dreamed of performing and originally set her sights on becoming a dancer. As a trained dancer and a fire performer, she landed a job as an assistant to Vegas magician Jon Andrew. He noticed her natural talent and began training her to become a magician.

While most assistants never make it to becoming a headlining magician, Scarlett has beaten the odds and done something that few women do. She considers herself a role model to young girls, proving that no matter how gender specific a job might be, women can do anything. In fact, being a woman has almost helped Scarlett get to where she is. Because of her dance background, she has great showmanship and can move her body in ways that many men cannot, making it easier to perform escape acts and other physical tricks.

Audiences also tend to be much more trusting of a woman then they would be of a male magician. Her good looks and sweet personality have audiences believing her illusions much easier. Scarlett has great showmanship on stage and she really knows how to work the audience. Also, her fire engine red hair and bright green eyes give her great presence on stage. Her show at the V Theater has taken the place of magician Nathan Burton who moved to the Flamingo. Her afternoon show takes places at 4 pm on weekdays and it’s perfect for the entire family.
