Super Bowl Weekend
|
It was a busy weekend here in The Entertainment Capital of the World as celebrities, Olympians and Las Vegas headliners flooded the Strip for Super Bowl XLVI. And with the stars came plenty of pre- and post- Super Bowl parties and even a few birthday bashes. Kicking off the festive celebrity weekend was none other than one of Sin City’s favorite celebrities and partiers, Paris Hilton.
It was a family affair on Friday night at Surrender Nightclub at Steve Wynn’s Encore when Paris Hilton brought her mom Kathy Hilton and father Rick Hilton to check out a set by Grammy Award-winning producer and DJ and supposed new boyfriend Afrojack. The family was all smiles as they all climbed into the DJ booth and waved glow sticks while Afrojack performed.
Olympic champions Michael Phelps and Apolo Ohno were also spotted at the Las Vegas nightclub over the weekend. The gold medalists arrived at the club after 2 a.m. on Saturday with a group of eight.
“Holly’s World” co-star and Night School 4 Girls at the Excalibur host Laura Croft celebrated her birthday at Sugar Factory in the Paris on Friday. Croft was joined by her Strip star boyfriend Clint Scott of Thunder From Down Under.
At the Las Vegas nightclub, the brunette beauty was presented with a pink, Barbie-inspired, three-tiered cake adorned with a large pink bow on top as the crowd sang “Happy Birthday.”
UFC stars Frank Mir and Jon “Bones” Jones, plus Baltimore Ravens defensive end Arthur Jones also enjoyed dinner at Sugar Factory.
Also celebrating a birthday in The Entertainment Capital of the World was “That 70’s Show” star Wilmer Valderrama. Valderrama made a late-night stop at Marquee nightclub in the Cosmopolitan where he headed straight to the Boom Box Room to continue his 32nd birthday celebrations. Also at Marquee: Joey Fatone, who is in town to host “The Price Is Right Live!” at Bally’s.
Over at Lavo in the Palazzo, actress Minka Kelly and singer-actress Mandy Moore dined with UFC stars George St-Pierre, Jon Fitch and Kenny Florian on Friday night. Michael Phelps also enjoyed dinner at Lavo before meeting up with Ohno at the boutique nightclub where “Dancing With the Stars” pro dancer Cheryl Burke was partying.
At sister nightclub Tao in the Venetian, Apl.De.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas enjoyed dinner before taking over the DJ booth for his Friday night set.
The Super Bowl celebrities included Sean “Diddy” Combs who hosted a Super Bowl XLVI pre-party he creatively dubbed Diddy Bowl at Tao in the Venetian on Saturday night.
Stacy Kiebler, the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant hosted her own Super Bowl party at the Bank in the Bellagio on Saturday night.
