The Future of Andre Agassi’s Grand Slam Event

After 16 Grand Slam for Children charity galas, tennis pro Andre Agassi has raised about $118 million, ensuring his College Preparatory Academy will be fully funded for the future, but now what?

Agassi himself has said of the future of the Grand Slam for CHildre, that he’s not going to make any firm decisions at least until after the tables and chairs at Lafite Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas (the home of Saturday night’s Grand Slam event) have been effectively stowed away.

“It’s a big night, a milestone night, and getting to this night every year is tough,” Agassi said during Saturday’s red carpet walk before the dinner, auction and concert. “Finishing this night is so rewarding. What happens from here on in is something I’ll take stock in shortly after.”

Agassi didn’t guarantee there would be a Grand Slam next year. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see but until then here are some highlights of Saturday’s event:

There was some buzz over which designer Agassi was wearing during his black-tie event. Arriving in a black-on-black-on-black suit the former tennis player was asked which designer he was wearing, he said, “Adidas? I’ve had the same tuxedo for …” Then his wife, Stephanie Graff added, “A couple of years. Men have it a little easier.”

Is Carrot Top getting into drag? Well, at least he is for Halloween. During Agassi’s event the Luxor headliner provided an update on his Halloween costume shopping experience. His girlfriend, Amanda, Hogan is dressing as pop artist Michael Godard. Carrot Top is dressing as Godard’s girlfriend, Brittany Weber. Carrot Top said he found the shopping experience…oddly enjoyable.

“It’s definitely weird that I enjoyed it.” said carrot Top. “I was like, ‘should I be enjoying this?” They were saying, ‘That really looks good on you.’ Should I be hearing this?”

It was also a night of anniversaries, birthdays and romance as Andre and Stephanie celebrated their 10th anniversary and their children Jaden (age 10) and Jaz (8) celebrated their birthdays.

During the event, former UCLA star and ATP Tour pro Justin Gimelstob proposed to his girlfriend, Cary Sinnott. She said yes!

In other Las Vegas news, if you missed all of the Halloween parties over the weekend, you still have one more night to don your scariest or sexiest costume and take part in some of Sin City’s best Halloween festivities.

Don’t miss the Las Vegas Halloween parade in downtown Las Vegas tonight. There will be a costume contest with the following categories being judged: scariest, best group costume, wildest, funniest, best float, best illuminated costume, best Las Vegas theme and the Las Vegas Halloween Parade showgirl icon.

Happy Halloween!
