The Beatles Love: More Then Just a Musical

In a memorable 5-year anniversary last June, Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles Love at the Mirage welcomed Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Dhani Harrison, creators of the Las Vegas show Sir George Martin and Giles Martin and a special video message from Ringo Starr for a special commemorative celebration of the greatest The Beatles tribute shows of all time.

Seven months later, Love continues to lure in the masses (more than four million so far) for its incredible journey through some of The Beatles best songs. But once inside The Beatles Theater at the Mirage guests will discover the show isn’t just a unique compilation of The Beatles music, it’s a historical journey.

Dominic Champagne, who directed and wrote the original concept for the show, explained his vision for Love: “I wanted to create a Beatles experience rather than a Beatles story, taking the audience on an emotional journey rather than a chronological one, exploring the landscapes and experiences that have marked the group's history.”

Love gives the audience the great opportunity to see and hear some of the famous characters from The Beatles songs as they come to life in a way only Cirque du Soleil knows how to do. Cirque du Soleil has done an astonishing job giving characters like Eleanor Rigby, Father McKenzie, Sgt. Pepper and The Walrus a metaphoric place in history, captivating the essence of The Beatles music and their undying message.

From the beginning scene of “Nowhere Land” where the four Nowhere Men, Sgt. Pepper and The Fool cross the metaphoric threshold into The Beatles world to the metaphoric character symbolizing the post-war nation who struggles to rise above their misfortune in that of Eleanor Rigby to the dramatic and refreshing end scene appropriately titled “All You Need is Love” where a montage of The Beatles wash over the audience and the message that all you really need is love spreads throughout the theatre makes Love one of the absolute must-see shows in Las Vegas.

And as if that wasn’t enough to get you out of your seat and into the Mirage, maybe the incredible music that’s weaved throughout the performance will. The soundtrack to the Beatles Love has own two Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for motion Picture, Television or other Visual Medium and Best Surround Sound Album at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards in 2008.

BestofVegas.com is offering an upgrade for select performances on this must-see Las Vegas show. Guests who purchase Love tickets from now until Feb. 26 will be given the opportunity to upgrade from category 2 to category 1 seating. For specific dates and more information on the upgrade simply search “shows” for Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles Love.
