While most of us consider MTV’s The Hills a guilty pleasure and continue to question the validity of the phrase “reality show," viewers tune in week after week to watch the drama unfold as Lauren “LC” Conrad, Lo, Audrina, Whitney, Heidi, Spencer, and Brody find ways to argue about absolutely nothing. Well this week in a two part season climax, the crew heads to Vegas to celebrate Frankie’s birthday. Almost the entire cast came to Las Vegas and stayed in the suites at the Venetian. After viewing the luxurious rooms, Lo commented “this is why I love Vegas.”
After a little girl talk, everyone headed downstairs for Frankie’s birthday dinner at CUT by Wolfgang Puck. Everyone ordered champagne and cocktails as they toasted the birthday boy. Not even a few minutes into the dinner, Brody and Stephanie got into a fight about their trust issues. Stephanie is Spencer’s sister and Spencer and Brody are arch enemies at the moment. Stephanie replied that Spencer and she no longer talk, but Brody wasn’t buying it and said that he warned Lauren not to trust her because he knows, “how crazy she is.” As you can guess, this started a fire that sparked Stephanie to talk about her past drug problem and then proceed to burst into tears. Stephanie and Lauren leave the restaurant in an uproar. They never once showed anyone with a piece of food in their mouth. Does anyone on this show ever eat? Well, that’s a different story.
So Lauren and Stephanie proceed back to their hotel room for a little calm-down time while the rest of the group headed to one of the hottest new nightclubs in Las Vegas, LAX. While Stephanie and Lauren were away, Audrina approached Frankie and asked what she should do to relieve the tension between her and Lauren. Frankie said he didn’t want any drama on his birthday and that they should just talk tomorrow. He doesn’t want any drama?! Is he kidding? Does he know what show he’s on? Seconds later, Lauren and Stephanie re-appear and are ready to join the party. Audrina and her boyfriend feel left out and sit quietly in their VIP booth watching the party from afar. Poor Audrina. The next morning, Frankie knocks on the door of the girls’ suite and tells everyone that Brody was arrested during the night and is sitting in jail! No explanation, of course. The conclusion to this week’s episode will air tonight on MTV when we will find out why Brody went to jail and if Audrina and Lauren will make up. No matter what happens, there will be plenty of Las Vegas drama taking place right here in our own backyard and BestOfVegas will be here to tell you all about. Whether you watch, don’t watch it, or just pretend not to watch it, you have to admit that this stuff is at least slightly entertaining.
