If you’re still recovering from your Halloween weekend you might have missed out on some of the great events that went on in Las Vegas on Halloween. BestOfVegas.com talked about a couple of the coolest parties around like the Fetish and Fantasy Ball at the Hard Rock Hotel, Mad Hatter’s Revenge at Jet and tribute shows for KISS and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. But not everything about Halloween in Sin City had to do with Las Vegas nightclubs and sexy costumes, some events were for the true Halloween fans that live with the ghouls and gore all year long. They’re the ones that have massive horror movie DVD collections and start preparing for Halloween as soon as the new year begins. For the hardcore horror fans, the Palms Casino Resort kicked off the first ever Trinity of Terrors event. The Palms is known for sexy clubs like The Playboy Club and awesome restaurants like N9NE Steakhouse. You can get inked at the Hart & Huntington tattoo shop or lounge out by the pool, but if you were there this weekend you might have found yourself running into zombies, vampires and horror movie legends. The Trinity of Terrors event was put on by Fangoria Magazine, the lead magazine in the horror world industry. It featured amazing seminars on everything that had to do with guts and gore. There were special FX makeup lessons to learn how to look like a slasher flick victim or your favorite zombie. Exhibitors lined the halls of the Palms with merchandise and art while VIP parties were held for the luckiest horror fans. Even tattoo fans had a chance to get some new ink at Trinity of Terrors as well. If you weren’t in the mood to shop, the Brenden Theatre was playing classic horror movies all day. Chances are you might have seen a lot of the celebrities from some of those movies at the convention itself, because Trinity of Terrors was packed with legends and actors. Hairspray director John Waters was there along with Kristy Swanson, the original Buffy the Vampire slayer. Cult hero and Evil Dead trilogy legend Bruce Campbell was also at the convention. But the guest of honor had to have been legendary director George A. Romero, the man responsible for Night of the Living Dead, whom many have called “The Grandfather of the Zombie.” Even after meeting all of those great horror icons and checking out the movies and seminars, fans were treated to a Halloween night performance by hardcore band Slipknot (their fans are called maggots, by the way.) It seemed like an appropriate way to end a great horror-themed event and an awesome time for Halloween fans in Las Vegas.
