Weekend’s Celebrities and Events

It was a jam-packed weekend of celebrities and events as Las Vegas resident and tennis legend Andre Agassi hosted the 15th Grand Slam for Children benefit at the Wynn on Saturday night. Then on Sunday 10/10/10 at 10 a.m., 10 winning couples became engaged at the Trevi Fountain at The Forum Shops in Caesars Palace by Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond. And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, Donny proposed to his wife of 32 years, Debi as he emceed the event.

Andre Agassi’s fundraiser for his Foundation for Education raised an astonishing $8.5 million bringing its total since 1994 to $91 million, inching him ever so close to his $100 million mark for next year. And you can imagine the celebrities that turned out for this event as Bill Cosby, The Canadian Tenors, Peter Cincotti, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Hudson, Rob Thomas and Sir Elton John performed a once-in-a-lifetime concert to help raise funds.

Over at the Palms celebrities gathered to celebrate at DJ Z-Trip’s Revolution at Rain on Friday night. Hip-hop producer, rapper and songwriter Jermaine Dupri was the guest DJ of the night and did a great job getting people on the dance floor.

Entourage star Sasha Grey dined at chef Geno Bernardo’s Nove Italiano Saturday before hosting a party at The Playboy Club. At the popular Las Vegas nightclub Moon singer Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes performed two songs from Lazarus while his entourage of nine enjoyed champagne and cocktails. Also at Moon was UFC President Dana White and he too enjoyed cocktails and danced to McCoy’s performance.

If you thought this past weekend was full of celebrities wait until you find out who will be in town this week! Here’s a quick run-down of the celebrities and events in the coming days:

Comedienne Wanda Sykes will be at Planet Hollywood on Friday and Saturday. Hottie Kim Kardashain will be celebrating her birthday at Tao in The Venetian on Friday. As previously reported David Foster & Friends will include an incredible lineup that includes Ne-Yo, Seal, Donna Summer, Natalie Cole, Michael Bolton, Earth, Wind and Fire, Kenny Loggins, Martina McBride, Charice and Chaka Khan on Friday at Mandalay Bay. Deadmau5 is at Body English at the Hard Rock. Colombian singer Shakira is at Mandalay Bay Saturday night and Alice in Chains, Deftones and Mastodon will be performing at The Joint in the Hard Rock.

Make sure you check back all week-long as there are plenty of celebrity events to attend which means even more celebrity news to read about! And I can’t wait to report on all of them!
