Zac Brown Band at Mandalay Bay fits just right
|
Last Friday night country stars the Zac Brown Band rocked Mandalay Bay Events Center, pleasing more than 9,000 adoring fans with favorite hits and cover songs.
The super talented country band included a whopping 20 song set list that included “Keep Me in Mind”; “Knee Deep”; It’s Not OK”; “I Play the Road,” in which four vertical split screens were used to great echoing effect; “As She’s Walking Away,” new song “No Hurry,” “Highway 20 Ride”; “Whiskey’s Gone”; and “Quiet Your Mind.”
Plus, the Zac Brown band covered some great hits including Van Morrison’s “Free” / “Into the Mystic”; the reggae-inspired “Where the Boat Leaves From” / “Crazy Love” / “Islands in the Stream” (the Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton classic); Charlie Daniels Band’s classic “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” in which the crowd gave the band a standing ovation; new song “Day I Die” co-written with Cowan; “Who Knows,” “Sic ’em on a Chicken;” “Toes”; and “Make This Day,” where Brown even showed off his rapping skills.
Just as the band left the stage they were applauded relentlessly until they returned performing a for a few more of their hit songs as well as show off some more of their skills. The encore included extended drum solos, a cover of the Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See,” “Cold Weather,” “America the Beautiful” and “Chicken Fried,” their most popular hit.
While the Zac Brown Band rocked Mandalay Bay Events Center, WWE wrestlers Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre watched Blue Man Group at the Venetian on Tuesday night. DJs Andre Allen Anjos and Karl Kling of Remix Artist Collective and Las Vegas resident and former tennis pro Andre Agassi and his wife Steffi Graf with a group of 10 friends also watched the Las Vegas show.
Former first lady Laura Buch and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani were among the inspirational speakers at the business seminar Get Motivated at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center yesterday while rapper Coolio performed at Beauty Bar downtown.
There’s sure to be a lot of commotion at Madame Tussauds at the Venetian today as the wax museum unveils pop sensation Justin Bieber’s wax figure. No word yet on whether the real life Justin Bieber will meet his twin any time soon, but if he does you can make sure it’ll be a frenzy!
To see Justin Bieber’s incredible wax figure and all of the other wax celebrities you can find discounted tickets to Madame Tussauds right here on BestofVegas.com. That’s all the Las Vegas celebrity news I have for today but check back tomorrow for more!
